1. What changed from 2026

The 2026 season ran to 23 races after the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian rounds were cancelled (the full story is in our 2026 cancelled races guide). For 2027 both are back in the Gulf, and they open the year as Rounds 1 and 2, so the season starts in the Gulf rather than in Melbourne. Australia moves to Round 3 on 2-4 April.

Two European weekends join the calendar: the Portuguese Grand Prix on 18-20 June, between Monaco and the British Grand Prix, and the Turkish Grand Prix on 1-3 October, the week before Singapore. The Dutch Grand Prix and the Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix, both on the 2026 calendar, are not on the 2027 one.

2. Spring: the Gulf, Australia and Asia

OpenerBahrain, 12-14 MarchThenSaudi Arabia, 19-21 MarchAsiaJapan 9-11 April, China 16-18 April

Five races in six weekends. Bahrain and Saudi Arabia run back to back in March, Australia follows in early April, and Japan and China close the opening swing on consecutive weekends. For anyone travelling, that's the tightest stretch of the year to combine races in one trip.

3. Miami, Canada and Monaco

Miami30 April - 2 MayCanada21-23 MayMonaco4-6 June

Miami opens May, Canada follows three weeks later, and Monaco arrives on 4-6 June: still the race most people mean when they say they want to see Formula 1 once. Our Monaco Grand Prix guide covers tickets, getting there and what to wear, and the Miami Grand Prix guide does the same for Miami.

4. European summer

Portugal (18-20 June), Britain (2-4 July), Austria (9-11 July), Belgium (23-25 July) and Hungary (30 July - 1 August) make five races in seven weekends, then the calendar pauses for all of August. Italy (3-5 September) and Spain (10-12 September) then restart the season back to back.

5. Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Singapore

Azerbaijan24-26 SeptemberTurkiye1-3 OctoberSingapore8-10 October

Three races on three consecutive weekends take the championship east: Azerbaijan, then the Turkish Grand Prix, then the Singapore night race on 8-10 October. Grand Circle's own Singapore Grand Prix rooftop party is on the Saturday of that weekend, and the Singapore race weekend guide covers the rest of the city.

6. Closing stretch

The United States (22-24 October) and Mexico City (29-31 October) back to back, São Paulo (5-7 November), the Las Vegas Grand Prix on 18-20 November, then Qatar (3-5 December) and the finale in Abu Dhabi on 10-12 December.
