The Best Experiences at the Monaco Yacht Show

The harbour itself is the headline, but the week around it is where a Monaco Yacht Show trip earns its keep. The 2026 show ran 23 to 26 September, and here is how to structure the time.

Visiting Port Hercules by day and at dusk

Once during the day, when detail and craftsmanship are easiest to appreciate: tenders, exterior design, the sheer scale up close. Once again at dusk, when the fleet lights up and Port Hercules becomes genuinely spectacular. Most first-time visitors underestimate how different the show feels at these two times.

A full show day can be followed by a harbour walk on accessible public quays. Dusk can fall after exhibition closing, so do not assume a show ticket includes evening access.

The Car Deck

The organiser now groups tenders, water toys and luxury vehicles in its Adventure Area, including a Top Marques Monaco Pavilion for cars. Use the current show map and programme rather than looking only for an older “Car Deck” label.

Choose this part of the exhibition if yacht-related equipment or automotive design interests you. Check the access rules for each part of the area; a water-toy display and a tender inside the Dockside Area can have different entry conditions.

The Upper Deck Lounge

The Upper Deck Lounge presents another part of the show’s design and lifestyle offering. Check its current restaurant reservations and lounge-access terms before using it as a meeting place.

A lounge name on the map does not establish that your pass includes every space within it. Ask about the specific restaurant or meeting area you want, and build the booking around your exhibitor appointments.

Which day to attend

Start with your pass and any confirmed appointment. The organiser lists paid visitor access from Thursday for the next edition; Wednesday is invitation-based.

Choose a day that gives you enough time for the exhibition and your onward travel. If a particular exhibitor matters to the visit, ask about appointment availability before deciding which day to buy.

Private viewings and broker introductions

If you are genuinely in the market, or simply want a closer look than general admission allows, the real value is arranged ahead of time through a broker, a shipyard or a management company, rather than hoped for on arrival. Confirmed appointments beat walking the pavilions and hoping.

This is worth being blunt about: a general admission pass, however expensive, does not open the most exclusive vessels. Boarding those runs through a relationship established before the show, not through the ticket.

Dine like it's show week

Monaco's size works in your favour here. The principality is about two square kilometres, but hills, steps and event closures can lengthen a walk, and the harbour, the Casino square and the hotel terraces are all walkable from one another.

What does not work in your favour is demand. Check the restaurant’s show-week opening hours and reservation arrangements. If a specific restaurant matters to your week, book it the moment your dates are confirmed rather than after you land.

Day trips from Monaco during the show

Monaco is small, and the Riviera is right there. Èze's hilltop village, Cap-Ferrat and Nice's old town are all close enough for a half-day without disrupting a show-focused schedule. If your trip is otherwise entirely harbour-and-hotel, one outing changes the character of the whole week.

Èze is the shortest hop and the biggest visual change, a hilltop village requiring its own travel leg. Nice’s old town is another option if you want to spend time beyond Monaco.

Building the itinerary

A well-paced Monaco Yacht Show visit typically looks like this:

1. Arrive and settle, ideally the day before your first pass day, so the first morning is not spent travelling.
2. One full exhibition day, then a separate evening harbour walk on accessible public quays.
3. The Adventure Area and Upper Deck Lounge slotted into that day deliberately, with lunch reserved.
4. Any arranged private viewings placed around the harbour time, since they are the least flexible items in the week.
5. One evening reserved for a serious dinner, booked well ahead.
6. A half-day out of Monaco, if the schedule allows it.
