Do You Need a Visa for Singapore? A Visitor’s Checklist
Check Singapore visa requirements by passport, find the official application route and understand the difference between a visa and a visit pass.
A race ticket or conference invitation does not answer the immigration question. Start with the travel document you will use, then work through the trip in order: eligibility, application if required, arrival declaration and the permitted stay after entry.
Check your travel document
ICA lists visa-required countries and document types, with links to individual application instructions. Do not rely on a list for someone with a similar residence status: the issuing country and document type matter. India is among the listed countries; special travel documents can have separate rules.
Read that page again if your itinerary changes or a passport is replaced. Keep a copy of the relevant instructions with the booking rather than using an agency's summary as the only reference.
Apply through the official route
Follow the country-specific instructions. ICA describes submission through an eligible local contact, an authorised agent appointed by an overseas mission, or the mission itself as applicable. Confirm the fee, supporting documents and processing guidance for your case; this guide does not promise a processing time or multiple-entry validity.
Submit before travel. ICA does not accept a visa application at the immigration counter, and approval does not guarantee entry.
Distinguish the three documents

The arrival-card guide covers the submission window. After entry, read the last day shown on your e-Pass. A visa valid beyond that date does not extend the visit pass.
Attending an event and working at one
MOM's eligible activities page distinguishes attending meetings or events as a participant from organising, speaking, performing or providing services. Some work activities can qualify for an exemption with conditions or notification; others require a work pass.
If you have an active role, give the organiser an accurate description of your duties before travel and check MOM's rules for that activity. A networking invitation alone does not establish work authorisation.
Before booking and before flying
Check your passport, visa route and entry requirements before paying for a trip. Before departure, keep the accommodation address, onward travel and relevant approvals accessible offline. Use ICA's entry checklist for applicable documentation and health requirements.
